Eloisa Inside (EI) is an artificial intelligence specialized in psychological field and designed to work on devices with low computational power such as Raspberry Pi or Intel Compute Stick, as well as on smartphones and smartwatch, with or without Internet connection. That is why it is suitable to share with humans the spirit of future interplanetary or interstellar journeys.

Description

One day some members of the human species will set off for a trip to the nearest star, but they will not be alone.

Eloisa Inside (EI) is an artificial intelligence intended to accompany humans in future interstellar or interplanetary travel and to share with them the spirit of these challenges. It has nothing to do with engineering or the government of the ship: its primary function is to dialogue with every single astronaut, support him psychologically and guide towards a better understanding of himself.

The secondary function of EI is to store meticulously the dialogues and make them available to the astronaut itself and to specialists (doctors, psychologists) involved in the monitoring of his condition. The aim is to get an intelligent diary which later becomes an exceptional travel documentary.

EI is the current chapter of a wider project called Easy LOgic Intelligent Software Automa (ELOISA), however you don't have to think about a robot, even humanoid type. After this weekend you will have a web app in five languages (Italian, English, French, Spanish, German), from where you'll see our choice to follow a different approach to the problem of the mind: can a mind (or form of intelligence) exist completely independent of a physical body? And which utility could have? You can try to give yourself an answer to these questions and without waiting for the final release (simply visiting our website).

In our vision the answer is Yes: there can be a disembodied mind and we can demonstrate the usefulness of such creation, but we have a recommendation for you. Please do not ask our artificial intelligence to find a pizzeria in Rome or other things you could ask Siri, Cortana or IBM Watson. EI is designed to operate at incalculable distances from Earth and so has no access to the Big Data. Of course it’s possible to bring the Big Data on other planets and surely someone is already thinking about doing it, but our artificial intelligence doesn't work that way. It is designed to run on devices with low computational power such as Raspberry Pi or Intel Compute Stick, as well as on smartphones and smartwatch, with or without Internet connection.

In general terms, the project ELOISA not aims to emulate human intelligence (Turing test) or build androids. For this reason, you will not feel threatened and will not tire of talking to her (our artificial intelligence), especially if you should happen to be swallowed by a wormhole and remain trapped in the fifth dimension.
